Report on Cardinal McCarrick Released
Today, the Holy See released its “Report on the Holy See’s Institutional Knowledge and Decision-Making Related to Former Cardinal Theodore Edgar McCarrick (1930 – 2017).”
I have included links to some references that may be helpful to you and also, if you deem appropriate, to share them with others.
These resources for your reference include:
- Entire text of the report (available in English)
- Video and written statement, in English, Polish and Spanish, of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State for the Holy See
- USSCB statement by Archbishop Gomez of Los Angeles
- Vatican News article “McCarrick Report: a sorrowful page the Church is learning from”
Please continue to pray and to work for the protection of children. Also, let us continue to accompany and to pray for the healing of victim-survivors and those harmed by sexual abuse of minors and other misconduct by the clergy and bishops of the Catholic Church.
Thank you for serving the people of God, and let us constantly look for ways to walk in the light, healing and peace of Christ.
Peace,
Most Reverend Ronald A. Hicks
Bishop of Joliet
