Joint statement from the Diocese of Joliet and Benet Academy 2

The Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools Office and Benet Academy are pleased to announce a path forward for the two entities. Effective July 1, 2022, the Catholic Schools Office and Benet – while maintaining their independence – will collaborate to promote and enhance the Catholic, college-preparatory education in the Benedictine tradition offered to students at the Academy. This path formalizes Benet Academy’s status as an independent, Catholic high school located within the geographic boundaries of the Diocese of Joliet. A second path respecting the Code of Canon Law regarding Joliet Bishop Ronald Hicks and the Benet Academy Board of Directors is expected by the end of April 2022.
